Welcome to our Chaplaincy Page

We are a group of pupils from St Mary’s Catholic Primary School- from Year 3 to year 6, who have been chosen by their class and teachers to proclaim the word of the Lord and encourage others to follow in Jesus’ footsteps. In Year 5 for example we had to sign a form and persuade others that we would be good Chaplaincy Leaders and Pilgrims of Hope.

In the 24/25 Academic year: Ravnoor in Y6 was chosen not only as other faith’s leader but also president of the chaplaincy team. Abbie Y6 is Vice President. Aisha Y6 is secretary with Pearl in Y3.Sacristan Team Anderlecht team: Aisha, Abbie, Olivia, Leo and Ethan. In the 25/26 Academic year, new pupils were chosen by their peers in the Summer Term 25 to represent the school. The younger classes  of Y1 and Y2 have Chaplaincy representatives, who support the prayer in the classrooms.

A new chaplaincy team was chosen at the end of the Summer Term 25 and mentored by the outgoing team.

We are responsible for looking after the sacred spaces in school.

Communications Team St Bernadette: Jacob, Jontae, Elsa

We communicate what the Chaplaincy team do.

Last year we have: led the school in participating in the Big Lent walk, led the Jubilee Year of Hope celebrations, led Masses and Celebrations of Word.  Encouraged prayer time in the Chaplaincy area in Lunch time, led other Faith’s Celebrations of the Words ( Sikhism), led  a Rosary club and Stations of the Cross club amongst many other things.

We also fundraised for the homeless Charities in Advent- focusing the school stable as a shelter for the homeless.

Tom Shannon, the St Thomas Aquinas Academy Chaplain supports the school, with school chaplain deacon Keith Hannah who works in the school for a day or half day every week, supporting the Catholic life and mission, Prayer and Liturgy and Chaplaincy Team in the school.

At the start of the 25/26 Academic year: we helped organise a 2 day cake sale for the Macmillan Charity, raising over £200 and have devised and led the school in a new school prayer.
